The mighty HEEP 1st has heavy moments, gentle moments and harsh blues and lots of doomy atmospherics. Great variation of different kind of tracks. The ultimate HEAVY classic with the nifty prog-rock intro and introducing the patented Heep banshee harmonies complete with wild breakout organ solo, wailing slide guitar and moody atmospherics.
(A-1) Awesome dark & doomy cruncher "Gypsy" starts the album at 6:34
(A-2) Walking in your Shadow: Cool heavy riff, great guitar tone. An underated classic
(A-3) Come away Melinda: Leaning a bit towards the errie side, still a nice ballad.
(A-4) Lucy Blues - hard dark UK blooz-boom grooves, not issued within the USA release
(B-1) Dreammare - An excellent heavy rock stomper featuring a great guitar solo. Tops!
(B-2) Real Turned On - Another hard riff based heavy featuring lots of juicy slide guitar
B-3) I'll keep on Trying - Good one with a nice meaty emotive guitar solo.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: "EX" (excellent) and better ...nice laminated gatefold has light scuff to the lamination only detected upon light reflection and no wear to the white (no ring wear, etc.) cover rated all solid with no split seams, no writing, no delete marks...
The vinyl: Rated: VG+ minor hair scuffs over very thick shiny platter, 48 years of age plays with very enjoyable audio ...play back will not contain alarming surface problems ... both pink rimmed German Island labels are clean
