Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. This is a little seen, long rare, Frank Zappa 3xLP box set called "Assault on New York". These records feature material from Zappa's October and November performances from 1981. Previously unreleased, all tracks are exclusive different versions and only found here:::

According to the cover, side 1 is from the Palladium, and sides 2-6 are from the Ritz. (When Guitar Player Magazine conducted a poll in the early 1990s, the Ritz concert was voted "BEST CONCERT BY ANYONE, ANYWHERE, EVER".)

Tracks 2-4 have been officially released on the DUB ROOM SPECIAL video, with track 3 slightly edited. Between tracks 1-2 on this album you can hear the beginning and end of the second movement of "Sinister Footwear", which was played but edited out, and after track 4 you can hear the start of "Doreen".
The entire first guitar solo in "Drowning Witch" on Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch is taken from this recording, but this is a different, edited version.
Tracks 11 and 12 are not listed on the album cover, which instead lists track 10 as being split over the side break, but the listing above is correct.
Track 20 was originally recorded by Gene & Eunice, with Johnny's Combo (Johnny was Johnny Otis, inspiration for Zappa's mustache) on the Alladin label (3282) on 17-Feb-1955, and peaked at #8 on the R&B chart on 21-May-1955.
Tracks 20-21 also appear on Apocrypha.
Track 16 is a short solo by Tommy Mars, while Zappa tunes his guitar.
Special guest Al DiMeola plays a guitar solo on "Clownz on Velvet". (Zappa didn't play with him, because they couldn't hook up enough guitars.) Some people refuse to believe that it's the real Al DiMeola, but it is.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: BOX SET with custom artwork taped to front & back, with the naked eye it is very hard to see but there were it appears indiscreet tears taped sat bottom left of cover sheet, again, you can't really see, but there, so considered minor. Otherwise handled but not abused over the past 25+ years since released as a limited edition that many collectors never saw anyway ...rated VG++ obviously VERY collection worthy ...

The vinyl: Rated: M- all clean along the 6 sides, so plays same as when first released 25+ years ago ... all 6 labels are clean
