I’m back with an outstanding group of 45s this week. This auction represents the best picks of the last 3 - 6 months. Been pretty dry around these parts… Anyway, there are 17 different Alabama 45s in this group, some real rarities, from garage to gospel. Another couple dozen 45s including Northern Soul, Rockabilly, Surf some NOS DJ stash records, and the elusive Beattles with a double “T” Vee Jay 45. This is a stock pressing of the Beatles first US release on Vee Jay Records, Please please Me / Ask Me Why. The label misspelled the Group’s name as the “Beattles” with two “T”s. Despite being a hit in England the record flopped in the US due to poor promotion. Dead wax info: AUDIO MATRIX (stamped) AR (stamped in circle) RA 63-2967 L 46527 & AUDIO MATRIX (stamped) AR (stamped in circle) RA 63-2968 (triangle) 46527-X.
Both sides of the label have ring wear and owner’s name written in dark blue or black ink which really only visible when viewed at an angle. The vinyl has moderate to heavy scuffing and a noticeable scratch to Please side. Obviously a well played record, still plays alright, but not the reason you’re buying it . Excluding rarity I grade this one VG to VG-
