Description
Up for auction is a Tremendous Illustrated Reference Volume, 45 Revolutions (1976/1979): Punk, Mod/Powerpop, New Wave, NWOBHM, Indie Singles in the Years of Anarchy, Chaos and Destruction Volume 1 UK/Ireland by Mario Pancirea. 2008. 1,176 pages. Illustrated with 4,500+ illustrations and listing more than 2,000 artists and over 3,000 singles this amazing volume includes every 7” released from 1976 through 1979 in the United Kingdom/Ireland Punk, New Wave, Mod/Powerpop and NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal). This includes band histories, member line-ups and period reviews in addition to the first and subsequent pressings of the singles, label information, release date and recording details. In addition to the more well-known bands, this also includes many lesser-known groups and performers. Some of the artists in this volume are listed below. Hardbound in color pictorial boards. Near fine condition, never been opened and still in publisher’s shrinkwrap – the photos shown are from an opened edition.

The fully illustrated book, Punk: The Definitive Record of a Revolution by Stephen Colegrave and Chris Sullivan. Thunder’s Mouth Press, 2001 399 pages. Featuring hundreds of b/w and color vintage photographs, this expansive look at Punk and its origins includes photos and information about 1975 and before – influences of Punk from the Velvet Underground, MC-5, The Stooges, The New York Dolls and David Bowie to the early bands and performers – Patti Smith, Richard Hell, The Heartbreakers, Sex Pistols, The Ramones, the clothing and fan zines of punk – chapters devoted to the years 1976-1979, sex, punk in England, the New York scene and the No Wave movement, touring, the legacy of Punk, principle people and bands, plus much, much more. Also includes a bibliography and a complete index. Bound in stiff wrappers. Very good condition. Measures h-9 x w-8 ¾ inches.
