Description

Here’s a rare original 45 rpm Record from 1954 on the Grand Label featuring The Castelles doing “This Silver Ring” b/w “Wonder Why” in very good condition. There are no skips, cracks, or serious scratches, and it is very clean. It came from an old man who had saved records from when he used to work on and restock old jukeboxes over 50 years ago. It hasn’t seen the light of day since the 1950s until I got it recently along with a bunch old other original 45 rpm oldies from the 1951-1956 era. It has some visible wear on the trail-off area due to being played in a jukebox, but the grooves weren’t affected. I played it and it sounds good. Naturally like many early recordings on small labels, it is a little bit noisy throughout on the high frequency end above 15kHz, but when I cut the ultra high frequency down with my equalizer, the sound was very good throughout, without that scratchy distorted groove wear sound that comes from being played alot with a bad needle. The photos attempt to tell the story and show the detail. My reserve is $300. This is a rare seldom seen original copy from 1954 on the glossy yellow Grand label of The Castelles’ This Silver Ring b/w Wonder Why in very good condition.
