Description


Released around Feb. '54, this extremely rare 45 - (one of only 9 records to be released on Art Sheridan's short-lived Sabre label) - featured backing vocals by The Five Echoes (not credited on label).   Walter Spriggs (who also wrote both sides under the name Spreegs), used the pseudonym "Wally Wilson" as the the lead vocalist on both sides of this gem.  Why all the secrecy here.......anybody know?
The Five Echoes featured a very young Johnny Taylor - later of  1968's "Who's Making Love" fame, etc. as well as Earl Lewis - who came over from The Flamingos.  
The "A" side is a terrific, very bluesy, R&B vocal number, whilst the "B" side is an uptempo Doo-Wop jump tune, featuring a dynamite sax break!

This 45 was found "nestled" amongst some Eddie Fisher, Nat King Cole, Eartha Kitt, etc. sleeved 45's (most, like this 45, looked like they had barely been played. The condition of this particular 45 may possibly be the finest example that one might ever hope to find after 65 years - still very glossy - and still in the sleeve it was found in.
45-S104 & 45-S105 are etched into the "dead wax" areas. Both sides play wonderfully! Any questions, PLEASE ask prior to bidding, and we promise to reply honestly & promptly.
