Description
Here is a very hard to find copy of the soundtrack lp to the 60’s surf movie The Golden Breed, recorded by The Backwash Rhythm Band. The Golden Breed was a Californian movie released in the late 60’s, and according to the rear cover “…..considered by experts to contain the finest footage ever shot of the world’s best surfers…” Big claim, but I haven’t seen the movie so I can’t comment!
This is an American stereo pressing on Capitol/EMI (#ST2886). The cover is Ex-, with some light corner and edgewear, and a punchhole to the top LHS. Its pressed onto thick vinyl, and does have marks and scuffs, although the record plays much better than it looks. Visually, I would grade it as Good, but based on sound quality I would say VG-, with the odd pop and some light background crackle in places. The labels are VG, with some light spindle wear.
All in all, a great playing or display copy of this rare surf soundtrack. Can be picked up from Mt Martha, Vic, or will post at buyer’s expense. For $9.00 I will bubble wrap, sandwhich in cardboard, and post in an Australia Post padded bag. I collect surf movie soundtracks, so will gladly swap this item for another soundtrack on lp, 45, or cassette tape. Thanks for looking, good luck!
