Mahatma Gandhi 78 RPM RECORD 1931

Sides One and Two are of Gandhi delivering his Spiritual MessageTo The World. One of the best surviving sound recordings of his voice, it was recorded on the 17th of October 1931 in Kingsley Hall, London. Gandhi was visiting London in connection with the Second Round Table Conference to broker a peace between colonial Britain and the broader Indian freedom movement. It was just before he would be jailed again after the breakdown of the Gandhi-Irwin pact. This is an ORIGINAL laminated Columbia copy, not the later post-war re-issue. Mega-rare 78, in EXcellent condition, plays beautifully. The sleeve has been decorated with a cutting of Gandhi.
