Vintage historical 12-inch 78 rpm record: MACARTHUR VS TRUMAN - The full story of the big dispute...MacArthur's Career...told with actual voices of all the top principals; written and directed by Hal L. Childs; narrated by William Rose; issued by News Records. No cover/jacket was issued. Heavy dark red vinyl, deep groove to labels. SCARCE - I can't find any other copies available online, or listed on any completed-auction pages. It is EASILY worth the opening bid, and I wouldn't let it go for less.
BACKGROUND: In 1951, in perhaps the most famous civilian-military confrontation in the history of the United States, President Harry S. Truman relieves General Douglas MacArthur of command of the U.S. forces in Korea, and replaced him with Gen. Matthew Ridgeway. The firing of MacArthur set off a brief uproar among the American public, but Truman remained committed to keeping the conflict in Korea a “limited war.”
Condition: VG++ (some minor scuffing, a few long surface marks but nothing I can feel, no scratches, clean labels).
