Description
Of the recordings that Toscanini made in the later stages of his career, considering that he avoided the recording process as much as possible until he sought to preserve his legacy, many of his NBC Orchestra recordings for RCA Victor were somewhat hobbled by sound engineering and the recording location at NBC Studio 8h. According to William Youngren in Commentary Magazine, "finally, there is a disc of "Light Classics" (6205-2-RC). The sound is full, rich, and natural...Outstanding are the thrilling 1953 Rossini William Tell Overture and the spacious, relaxed 1950 Smetana Moldau."
In terms of Vdisc, this ultimately was the aim of this test pressing given the matrix #VP-196 that can be found also the same named Vdisc with two sides.
This record has been played but it remains in excellent condition with the usual scuff marks from handling.
A handling charge is included to cover the cost of the special packaging which is box-in-box with packing nuts, bubble wrap and padding.
