The Rockin' Continentals " The 309 / 2-3-4 " Casino  (Either 1007/1008 or 2AFM104/2AFM 105 (both are on the labels. Not sure which is the correct number). 1962. See more info about this group below.  Original pressing with thicker vinyl and other markings in the trail off area not present in the repro. " Casino 2-AFM-104 (2:40) and Casino 2-AFM-105 (2:55) " in the trail off areas. Also has:"'SJW-4589" on both sides in the trail off. Also "MR"? in the trail off. (This one is small and a bit hard to make out. The original is scarce and hard to find. This record books for up to $900.00 in the guides. Rock Garage / Rockabilly 45. The 309 side is a vocal and the 2-3-4 side is an instrumental. Great guitar on the instrumental side. Nice Rockabilly on the vocal side. The record is fairly nice. Still reasonably shiny. A few scattered light surface scratches and scuffs. One on the vocal side is a bit more noticeable but still surface only. It plays reasonably well with a light background noise but nothing serious. The voices and instruments come through pretty loud and strong. The labels have some wear and ring wear. A small set of initials on one label. I didn’t know much about the band until drummer Bob Stanley contacted me and filled out their history. Members included Johnny Thompson on lead guitar and vocals, Melvin Ralston on rhythm guitar, Chuck Smith on bass, and Bob Stanley on drums. The singer has a strong southern accent that doesn’t appear on their other songs. The original A-side was “2-3-4,” written by Melvin Ralston, which in comparison is simple riffing on blues changes.Their next and last single was “Cobra 289” written by Ralph Sandmeyer in tribute to the Ford/Shelby AC Cobra sports car first manufactured in 1962. Bob says that “Ralph Sandmeyer was a songwriter and close friend of Johnny Thompson”. "
