A MINT (EX SHOP STOCK) COPY OF THIS ULTRA RARE KENYAN 78 ON THE "AFRICAN RECORD" CMS LABEL !

ODUNGA AND BROS.

(TWO GUITARS, MARACUS, CHUPA, DRUM AND VOCAL)

AKAKA  b/w  OANA   (Both sung in Banyore)

The Capitol Music Store was based in Nairobi and issued records from the late 50's and into the 70's. This is one of the first of a batch of 78s I have come across, and these 78s are exceedingly rare !!

SADLY I CAN FIND NO REFERENCE TO THE MUSICIANS MENTIONED ON THE LABEL - BUT THESE ARE TWO VERY FINE SIDES!!

I believe this 78 was actually pressed in the sixties and it is manufactured from a very hard vinyl rather than shellac.
