Rare Amos n Andy Syndicated Radio Program
One double sided 12 inch shellac 78 rpm record. Episode # 419 parts 1 and 2
The Amos n Andy Show began in 1928 on WMAQ Chicago. Advance recordings of each episode were recorded on Electra and Brunswick 78 rpm discs to be distributed to subscribing stations for airing in synchronization with the live broadcast. Correll and Gosden called this a "chainless chain" These discs were to be returned or destroyed after broadcast, so very few of these records exist and are extremely rare.
This show was broadcast July 27, 1929.
The disc has an small edge chip and a 2 1/2" hairline crack. Plays good with no skips.
