Description

Up for auction is Prestige LP 7017 from 1955: The Art Farmer Quintet featuring Gigi Gryce on alto sax, Farmer on trumpet, Duke Jordan on piano, Addison Farmer on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums. The record bears the 50th St. NY address, deep grooves, and the RVG stamp in the dead wax (Rudy Van Gelder is listed as the engineer on the back cover, as well). This is a promotional record given to a radio DJ and bears multiple small "not for sale" stamps on the back. 
Sleeve: NM with no ringwear, no seam splits, no dog ears, and some minor scuffing on the front cover and one line of blue pen with an acquisition date of "Spring 1956" on the back. 
Record: side - 1 EX with extremely minor scuffing from coming in and out of the sleeve, and one tiny scratch in the first track and another in the second (these did not cause skipping when I listened and the record plays and sounds amazing); side - 2 NM with a few extremely superficial scuffs from being taken out of the sleeve. 

I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records (Blue Note, Norgran, Impulse!, Columbia, Prestige, Fantasy, Riverside, etc.) from a collector a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.
