### Ultra-Rare German Audiophile Test Pressing / White Label Promo LP (DECCA Stereo SXL 2174 Reissue)


Up for auction is a legendary orchestral showpiece recording: an authentic **German Test Pressing / White Label Promo** ("Unverkäufliche Musterplatte") of the July 1997 audiophile reissue of Franz von Suppé's *Overtures* (originally recorded in May 1959 at the Sofiensaal, Vienna).


This legendary performance features Sir Georg Solti pushing the Vienna Philharmonic to a level of blazing precision and visceral energy that has rarely been matched on disc. Widely regarded as an absolute cornerstone of the early Decca sonic legacy, this record is celebrated by audiophiles for its massive dynamic transients, thunderous bass response, and brilliant instrumental separation. Remastered directly from the original analogue session tapes, the lacquers were cut in London by legendary engineer Tony Hawkins at DECCA using a Neumann VMS 80 lathe with a Studer A 80 tape machine. Pressed onto premium **180g Virgin Vinyl** in Germany, the commercial run was strictly limited to 1,000 copies per stamper. An advance *Musterplatte* test pressing like this is exceptionally scarce and highly coveted by serious classical music collectors.
