ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE/BABY YOU'RE A RICH MAN (Capitol 5964, 1st pressing green label PROMO, 1967): VG+ w/writing on labels (see photos).
Capitol only released 4 singles on this promo-only green label (the other 3 are Strawberry Fields, Hello Goodbye, and Lady Madonna). All four are very rare, especially compared to the millions of orange-and-yellow-swirl label stock copies of these #1 hits.
This particular issue was of a recording made in the first worldwide satellite broadcast, Our World, spotlighting a live 1967 musical performance. John, Paul, George, and Ringo were basking in the glow of their worldwide smash LP Sgt. Pepper's, and as the Summer of Love ended, All You Need Is Love perfectly captured the love-beads-and-light-show hippie vibe (which was about to go poof in the turbulent chaos of 1968).
This is a guaranteed genuine example of a highly collectible 45; it has the machine-stamped "star" (an asterisk, really) in the trail-out vinyl on both sides; this is the hallmark of Capitol's L.A. pressing plant. BEWARE OF FAKES of these green label promos! Because the single-color labels are block-letter simple, they're easy to counterfeit. Many fakes have a crudely hand-etched star in the trail-out wax; accept ONLY machine-stamped stars! This original plays VG+; if it weren't for superficial fingernail marks left by fumble-fingered DJs, the vinyl'd be M-, easy. The labels have writing (see photos), but it's faint, and the B-side has only an "x". Clean examples in this condition generally retail for $150 and up, so we'll discount accordingly. One only!
