Description: Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one featuring The Beatles.  Briefly, the vinyl on this one looks decent with only some very light to light marks.  The cover is in pretty rough shape.  Read on!

A few unique things about this item:
Firstly, this record retains the original shine with only some very light to light marks  grading by sight in normal room light.  I'm sure if you took this and put it under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes it less than mint.  If you're that kind of collector, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim this record is mint.  I took the time to play it and found the 11 tracks to audibly average better than VG+(excellent) with some scattered very light to light surface noise + some scattered very light to a few light pops.  You can assign your own grade based on my comments on what I heard and the GRADING SCALE BELOW! 

Keep in mind how it plays for me may differ than how it plays for you based on differences in audio equipment. 

Secondly, I'm NOT able to see the dark triangle about 1" to the right of the Ringo's elbow, indicating another cover under this top cover.

Thirdly, a previous owner has very slightly peeled the bottom front lower right corner, and I CAN'T see a dark cover underneath on that corner tip.  If you compare this with a butcher cover, that area is dark which confirms to me there is NOT a butcher cover underneath.  I'm not an expert on peeling covers, so I'm not going to attempt that procedure.

Fourthly, the back lower right corner shows "RIAA" and the number "4".  Internet research indicates a "6" is Los Angeles, a "3" is Scranton, a "4" is Jacksonville (Illinois?).

  Fifth, this from a fellow ebayer pm 9:14:19: (thank you for that!):
"You are correct that a #4 is a Jacksonville, Illinois pressing, Jacksonville only had the one number. Numbers 2 & 3 are both pressings from Scranton, Pennsylvania and later Capitol bought a plant in Winchester, Virginia that also shared the #2 & #3 markings. The numbers 5 & 6 were pressings from Los Angeles. You are also correct in stating that this is NOT a butcher. No known second state (paste over) covers came from the Jacksonville plant. They destroyed their first state butchers and never put out any covers with the trunk cover pasted over a butcher."

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s). 

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

• NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
• 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
• 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
• VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
• VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
• G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship a single record in a standard 12.5 x 12.5 x 1 record mailer.  Weight with box is 15 ounces. Shipping is $2.75 Media Rate (0-1 pounds) + $1.20 box/tape/pack + $.05 handling = $4.00.
Alternatively, I can ship in a  14 x 14 x 6" box. Weight with box is about 1 pound 11 oz. Shipping is $3.27 Media Rate (1-2 pounds) + $1.70 box/tape/packing + $.50 handling = $5.47.

This auction is currently set to ship in the smaller box.  If you want the larger box, let me know and I'll send an appropriate invoice.
