This is the 25th Anniversary Edition of Benny Goodman’s famous Jazz Concert Broadcast recordings, captured during years 1937-38, which features the King of Swing in Trio, Quartet, and Big Band.
Luminaries on the set reads like a Hall of Fame, as you’ll hear contributions from Harry James, Teddy Wilson, Ziggy Elman, George Koenig, Lionel Hampton, Babe Russin, and Gene Krupa.
Selections include LET’S DANCE, RIDIN’ HIGH, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, ROLL ‘EM, KING PORTER STOMP, SHINE, ALWAYS, DOWN SOUTH CAMP MEETIN’, PECKIN’, NAGASAKI, STARDUST, KILLER DILLER, MY GAL SAL, BENNY SENT ME, and EVERYBODY LOVES MY BABY, among others.
Great set of music, in a sturdy slipcase without major fault, inner board sleeves are just fine, and both heavy-platter 6-eyes should play NM- to VG+. Very clean despite its age.
