"MUSIC FROM AMERICA" RADIO SHOW TRANSCRIPTION DISC ISSUED BY THE ARMED FORCES RADIO SERVICE. ONE COMPLETE 30 MINUTE RADIO PROGRAM ON THIS 16 INCH, VINYL, 33 1/3 RPM DISC. THIS DISC WAS ISSUED TO RADIO STATIONS FOR BROADCAST ONLY AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. VERY RARE!
"Music From America" radio program #188. This is an Armed Forces Radio Service rebroadcast of The Bell Telephone Hour radio program from June 3, 1946 with special guest BENNY GOODMAN
The Bell Telephone Orchestra is conducted by Donald Voorhees. Songs include 1. "Goodman, Goodman Spare That G" or "The Pied Piper Of The Paramount", 2. "Concertino" (composed by Carl Maria Von Weber) with Benny Goodman on clarinet, 3. "London Bridge Is Falling Down", 4. "Hymn To The Sun" (composed by Rimsky Korsakov) with Benny Goodman on clarinet, 5. "Spanish Serenade", 6. "I Only Have Eyes For You" with Benny Goodman on clarinet, 7. "After You've Gone" played by The Benny Goodman Sextet
Of The four songs featuring Benny Goodman, the first three are with The Bell Telephone Hour Orchestra, and the last song is with The Benny Goodman Sextet, as the last number is introduced as "Benny Goodman And Five Of His Boys"

This is a very rare disc featuring a wonderful performance of Benny Goodman that I could not find any reference to. Possibly a one of a kind disc of a radio performance that has not been heard for over 70 years!
Disc is in Excellent condition with Excellent+ or better sound - Beautiful Disc With Beautiful Sound! There are a couple of scratches that cause some clicks, but no skips
Due to their size, 16 inch transcription discs will not play on most standard turntables. For $10 I can make a CD dub of the disc for the buyer only
