RARE BLACK SABBATH LP
FIRST ALBUM MADE BY THE BAND IN 1970
VERTIGO LABEL VO 6 847 903 VTY
OVERALL NEAR-EXCELLENT CONDITION
SOME SIGNS OF WEAR TO THE SLEEVE EDGES, BUT HARDLY NOTICEABLE
I would describe the condition of this item as follows:
Record: Somewhere between Very Good & Excellent. General High Gloss finish to the vinyl. There are a couple of surface marks on Side B (White label side), and a small surface scuff mark that I don`t think will be picked up when played. It`s in remarkable condition given the fact that it`s 42 years old.
Sleeve: Excellent. There is a small `doodle` that someone has done on the black area with the end of a pen (See pic), but isn`t all that noticeable as the pen ink hasn`t printed.
I am not a Record Dealer so I don`t do this for a living, but I do think that the visual grading system outlined below provides a good guide to the condition of the Record and Sleeve. I have not played the record as I don`t have the correct equipment.
I use the `Record Collector` grading system as follows:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Comes in a plain white inner record sleeve/record carrier
