Description

Furry Lewis, In Memphis (Matchbox SDR 190) (1970).

The great Memphis singer-guitarist recorded at his home in 1968 by researcher Karl Gert zur Heide. Includes several pieces Lewis seldom or never recorded elsewhere. In its original UK issue on the Saydisc/Matchbox label.

St. Louis Blues/Furry Lewis' Blues/When I Lay My Burden Down/Kassie Jones/Going to Brownsville/Skinny Woman//See That My Grave Is Kept Clean/John Henry/Furry Lewis Rag/Careless Love/My Blue Heaven/Old Dog Blue/Spanish Flang Dang/Highway 61/Toast

To the best of the seller's knowledge, this LP has never been transferred to CD. It also appears that no copy has been offered on eBay for at least a decade.

Condition: disc excellent. Jacket has some slight edge and corner wear, with minor creasing at one corner, but no slits or tears. Back clean. A very good copy of this exceptionally hard-to-find record.

Note to buyers: it's not always easy to predict the weight of a parcel; some packing materials are heavier than others. Should the postage on an item turn out to be less than I have charged you, I will promptly refund the difference.
