Description
From 1949, comes Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese together on a 10 inch LP entitled Slugger At The Bat on Columbia JL8009 MONO 10 inch. On this talking LP,Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese, both Brooklyn Dodgers stand-outs, are watching a sand lot game when there arises a disputed play and the kids come up and innocently ask them to settle the dispute, not knowing who they are! Pee Wee gives them advice and they don't believe that he is Pee Wee Reese and that Jackie Robinson is Jackie Robinson! Jackie Robinson vouches for Reese and Reese vouches for him, but there is still some disbelief among these kids! Jackie tells the kids that if they go to Ebbetts Field that afternoon, there will be passes left for them to go to the game! The kids come to the game and see Jackie and Pee Wee and are finally convinced! The next day Pee Wee and Jackie go to the sand lot again to see the kids' team playing against another team. The kid's team wins and Pee Wee gives encouragement to one of the kids, telling him his bunt was as good as home run! On the other side of the LP is Gene Autry in Stampede. The main interest on this LP is Jackie and Pee Wee on Side 1!
