RARE Beatles Mono Vinyl Box — 1000 made!

Description:

RARE Beatles Mono LP Box Set, No. 423 of 1000.

  • Numbered, limited edition box, released in 1982
  • 1000 sets containing a mis-pressed Sgt. Pepper’s (side 2 in stereo) were issued in UK; these sets have a red box. The US (black box) version is pressed correctly
  • A Japan only edition of 1000 was also pressed in 1986 (red box & red vinyl)
  • All 3 versions use a mono mixdown from stereo for Yellow Submarine

Condition

  • Gently used; LPs played 2 or 3 times on Linn Sondek LP12 turntable w/ Ittok tonearm & clean, new stylus. Cleaned w/ Discwasher system & kept in sleeves & box when not in use
  • Box has small tear to leatherette near top & slight bump to corner: see 5th & 6th photo
  • Also see previous 2 photos for scrape (?) to bottom of spine, on the numbering area
  • Rubbing to one corner of box bottom; see photo 7
  • Shallow dent to box front; see photo 8. Caused by storage next to Mobile Fidelity Beatles box set (from the metal hinge)
  • Help!, Revolver & Sgt. Pepper’s have barely noticeable seam splits on the top edge, caused by shifting during shipping to the original retailer: see 8th & 9th photos. These splits do not go all the way thru & were present when I purchased this set in 1982. The split on Help! is so minor, you have to look carefully to see it.
  • Some age-related yellowing to the sleeves

From my personal collection; kept in a smoke-free home.
