Description
German stereo pressing of the Beatles first British LP. According to Beatles aficionados, this rare version (which shows matrix nos. SHZE 117-A-2 /B-2) contains the best-sounding analog stereo vinyl version of the Beatles’ PLEASE PLEASE ME LP, sourced from the U.K. masters...but without EQ or compression.
The cover is in Excellent+ condition with a very small tear (barely visible in photo) part way down the lip opening, from when the album was first opened. There is some very minor, very slight browning/fading of the white glossy surface along the edges, both front and back...too light to be visible in the photo.
The disc looks like a mint condition record, with both sides showing the smooth, glossy sheen of a brand new record. However, I am rating it Near Mint condition, as it has a couple of very tiny, barely perceptible spots on one side that are only visible in strong light, but which have absolutely no audible effect on playback.
The record also has some minor but noticeable pops and clicks on the run-in groove at the beginning of each side…and between just a few of the songs, but the actual song tracks -- all 14 of them -- play smooth, clean, and noise-free, truly sounding like a mint-condition record.
An extremely nice condition LP for a 40+ year-old record, one that is still very enjoyable to listen to even on the most high-end stereo playback systems. A rare find for a Beatles vinyl collector.
