Description
Rare Limited Edition of the original "Bat Chain Puller" recording sessions of 1976! This never got a proper release due to an acrimonious split with Frank Zappa, who buried the project. Beefheart had to re-perform and re-record the material for an official release, losing some of the raw power and authenticity of these original recordings. (The re-recorded version was released in 1978 as "Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)"). But in 2012 - coinciding with Don Van Vliet's (Captain Beefheart) 71st birthday - an official CD version of these recordings was released.
100 copies of this particular pressing - on pristine blue translucent vinyl - were unofficially released with a blue silk-screened cover, stamped and hand-numbered. The publishing company "Moral & Main" is probably an inside joke (the address on the back cover is a McDonald's in London), but the pressing is solid and this copy is unblemished, as close to mint condition as can be outside of the shrinkwrap.
