"KEEP IT HEAVY" / "AND THAT IS THAT" by CREME SODA

Trinity Records CST-112 Stereo 45 rpm record

Original Near Mint to Mint*, pristine 1st edition, new old stock, stereo pressing from 1974!

RARE record collector find! 

This record has never been played, nor sold in any commercial or private sale. It came from a sealed shipping box from 1974, discovered in a private storage location. 

*This record is listed as Near Mint (NM) to Mint (M) to allow for any minor issues.  The record labels and vinyl are free of any defacement; it has no visually detectable flaws.

eBay states: "The Goldmine grading guide is considered to be the standard for record collectors worldwide...Mint [M]: Absolutely perfect in every way - certainly never played, possibly even still sealed...Should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all...Near Mint [NM or M-]: A nearly perfect record. Many dealers won't give a grade higher than this implying (perhaps correctly) that no record is ever truly perfect. The record shows no obvious sign of wear. A 45 rpm sleeve has no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling."  

The record was issued in a plain white sleeve. Pictures of the A & B sides are of the actual record up for auction. Cover shot of the Creme Soda,Tricky Zingers LP is for reference only (not in auction).

A bit of history:

Trinity Records released this 45 in a limited quantity in 1974, nearly a year before completing and releasing Creme Soda's now acclaimed sole LP...TRICKY ZINGERS! 

Both songs on the 45 offered here were included on the LP. 

Over the years, “KEEP IT HEAVY” (A side of this 45) has arguably become the #1 contender for most popular song on the album. 

A little known fact is that the 45 version of the B side, “AND THAT IS THAT”, is different from the version appearing on the album.  The 45 version is actually the original approved recording for release in 1974.  In 1975, when recording was in full process for the entire Tricky Zingers LP, the decision was made to record a 2nd version of "AND THAT IS THAT" for the LP.  This allowed the band's new member, guitarist Ron Juntunen, to participate.  To distinguish the two versions from each other, the LP version has a second guitar, employing a slide technique; there's also additional percussion.  Neither are found on the 45 version.  45 version time: 1:40; LP version time: 2:02.

This 45 is the only source for the original stereo version of "AND THAT IS THAT".
