This has to be one of the major seminal work of Contemporary music: The AVANT GARDE boxset from Deutsche Grammophon Gesellshaft.
It features the following composer's works: Witold Lutostawski's String Quartet, Krystof Penderecki's Quartetto per Archi, Toshiro Mayuzumi's Prelude for String Quartet, Stockhausen's "gruppen fur 3 orchester" and "carre fur 4 orchester und 4 chore", Mauricio Kagel's phantasie fur orgel mit obbligati, Juan Allende-Blin's Sonorites, Gyogy Ligeti's Volumina and etude no.1, David Bedford's Two poems for Chorus, Gyorgy Ligeti's Lux aeterna, Arne Mellnas' Succsim, Marek Kopelent's Matka, Vinko Globokar's Trombone and Discours II, Luciano Berio's Sequenza V, Stockhausen's Solo fur Melodie-Instrument mit ruckkopplung, Carlos Roque Alsina's Consecuenza, Mauricio Kagel's Match fur 3 spieler, Christoph Caskel's Schlagzeug and Percussion with Siegfried Plam and Klaus Storck (cello). Pressed in Germany in 1968 for Deutsche Grammophon Gesellshaft #104 988 - 104 993. Box is strong VG+ (very light shelf mostly visible on the "white side" of the cover plus a very tiny tear also on white side (0.2"x0.1"). the inserts are still nice and shiny. The 7 lps: 104 988: It's generally strong VG+ (tiny superficial paper scuffs, nothing serious, but the first side also has a small but slightly deeper mark causing a few ticks); 104 989: flawless, NM; 104 990: strong VG+ (few light superficial paper scuffs); 104 991: very strong VG+ (very few light superficial paper scuffs); 104 991: flawless, NM; 104 992: flawless NM.
