Description
The Distants – “Come On” b/w “Always”
Original Northern Records 45 RPM single
Label: Northern Records
Catalog Number: 3732
Original Release Year: 1960
Genre: Doo Wop / Early Soul / Detroit Vocal Group
Exceptionally rare early Detroit vocal group 45 from The Distants on Northern Records — historically important pre-Motown era material connected to one of Detroit’s foundational harmony groups.
The Distants would eventually evolve into The Temptations, making early recordings under this name especially desirable to serious Motown, Detroit soul, and vocal group collectors. These raw early sides capture the transition from 1950s doo wop into the emerging Detroit soul sound that would soon dominate American music history.

Northern Records was one of the important early Detroit-area labels operating during the formative years immediately before Motown’s explosion, making original pressings like this increasingly difficult to locate.
