Description

BILLY WALLACE
And the Bama Drifters

WHAT’LL I DO
THAT’S MY REWARD

Mercury 70876

GRADE: VG+

DESCRIPTION: Here’s a record that almost defies being categorized. However, in doing some research on Billy Wallace over the Internet, I could find nothing about him except that his name crops up frequently on rockabilly CDs. This record was issued in 1956, when rockabilly was in its infancy. Wallace sings both of these songs--his own compositions--in what I term a country blues style. Both songs are absolutely great, and grow on you with each listen. From the small amount of information I could muster up, Wallace was a very popular songwriter of country music. Some people would call this country…..period. Others would name it early rockabilly. I would call it rockin’ country blues. There’s some great guitar work on both songs, and the music is a hoot! All of Billy Wallace’s records (there are six listed in Rockin’ Records) are rare and quite valuable, with none of them being listed for less than a minimum of $50. If you’re familiar with this very obscure recording artist, then you’ll know how good his music is. If you haven’t heard of him, there’s a treat in store for you if you like great ‘50s country/early rockabilly music! Bid on this great record now!

CONDITION: The record has a lot of scuffs, but fortunately they are all on the surface and don’t harm the perfect sound in any way--there’s still a lot of gloss left on the vinyl, too. The labels look fantastic without any writing, marks or tags, and the record plays like it’s brand new! Outstanding disk!

Summary of My Selling Policies Payment AMERICAN BUYERS--I accept PayPal, BidPay, money orders/cashiers checks, and personal checks. ABSOLUTELY NO CASH PAYMENTS UNLESS THE PAYMENTS ARE SENT VIA REGISTERED MAIL! Payment by INTERNATIONAL USERS will vary with the country--no foreign checks accepted. If you live outside the U.S.A., please wait for my quote of shipping/handling charges before sending your payment.

Payment must be received within 10 days of the auction close date. Failure to comply with or answer seller's e-mails will result in negative feedback and notification of non-paying bidder to mediation. Winning bidder pays all shipping/handling charges. I pack very carefully, but I DO NOT GUARANTEE LOSS OR DAMAGE IF PACKAGE IS UNINSURED AND I WILL NOT REFUND MONEY TO A CUSTOMER WHO HAS LOST OR DAMAGED UNINSURED MERCHANDISE (unless the damage can be proved to be my, the seller's fault). Fees Reasonable handling fees are charged according to the size of the package. I buy new packing material and must defray some of these expenses by charging a minimal extra fee. I do not rip off customers by tacking on unnecessary charges to the shipping costs. Shipping I ship to every country in the world. In the U.S.: I ship 45s by USPS 1st class shipping. However, if requested, I will ship 45s via priority mail. I require that 78s be shipped by USPS priority mail; however, there are cases where a buyer prefers some other type of shipping, i.e., media rate, and I will oblige with the one requirement that he/she purchase insurance. Out of the U.S.: All records are shipped via airmail. Delivery I ship within three days of receiving payment--often sooner. I ship twice a week--more frequently depending on the volume of sales for that week. Refunds & Returns Refunds are given if buyer feels my description is misleading. If a record is discovered to be, for instance, a second pressing instead of a first as advertised, I will refund the money. If I have graded a record higher than it actually is, that is reason for a refund. I will not refund payment if the buyer has found another record at a lower price than the one I sold him/her; or if the buyer changes his/her mind for about buying the record for no good reason. Buyer has 7 days after record has been shipped to request a refund. Items should be returned in the packing carton and material they were shipped in. Contact Me The best way to contact me is via e-mail. I am frequently not able to answer the phone due to being disabled. I respond to e-mails within 24 hours or less. I'm open for business every day.
