Description
A RARE ELVIS 78 RPM SHELLAC RECORD, THIS WAS RELEASED IN 1957 AND THE 10" SHELLAC FORMAT WAS DYING A DEATH, AND SOLD IN VERY SMALL NUMBERS. THE 45 SINGLE WAS NOW KING, BEING MORE DURABLE, AND EASIER TO STORE AND HANDLE, HENCE VERY FEW 78's SOLD. ESPECIALLY IN SOUTH AFRICA WHERE FEW PEOPLE COULD AFFORD TO BUY RECORDS AT ALL.
Offered on this auction is this South African 78 rpm pressing of ELVIS PRESLEY performing:
SIDE 1: LONESOME COWBOY
SIDE 2: GOT A LOT O' LOVING TO DO
This record was pressed on the Black RCA label.
The pressing number is 71.193.
The side 1 matrix is H2WP2762/4, and the side 2 matrix is H2WP2762/5.
It comes in an Original South African Issue RCA sleeve.
CONDITION:
Playing surfaces are in VERY GOOD PLUS condition; and show very few signs of use. The record does have some very minor scratches, however it has been play tested, and plays perfectly on both sides.
Labels are in Good condition, see photos.
I am busy thinning my collection down, so I have listed many other 78 RPM 10" records, almost all South African pressings. This is a great opportunity to possibly obtain different RARE titles. These records do not come on to the market often.

All 78's are sent very securely packed in custom-made boxes, sandwiched between stiff cardboard in the box secured with bubble wrap, and cushioned all round, ensuring a safe journey. Our feedback record bears testimony to this.
