This is a excellent condition, 20th Century Fox, radio promo LP for Elvis' first movie "Love Me Tender" .  Each side is identical and has 7 timed spots to promote the movie.  Elvis can be heard singing the song "Love Me Tender" (as well as incidental "Love Me Tender" guitar riffs)over the verrrrrryyyyy 1950/ early 60's type radio announcer talking about the upcoming movie.  THIS RECORD IS VERY COOL.  You may find similar records out there, but you will be hard pressed to find one in this great shape!  See Elvis as a "singin' man" a "fightin' man" a "lovin' man" in a story he was born to play.----just one of the promo quotes (cut 3)!  WOW!

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!

(I have been advised by a well known Elvis Presley collector that this is very unique.) He has seen 7" and 10" promos for the movie "Love Me Tender" but not a 12".

This was up for auction last week.  Lots of inquires for additional photos.  We have added photo's to satisfy that request.

Another question is concerning the label.  It is a manufactured, printed label.  The bottom of the white section that shows the Cut number and Time reads "Produced by 20th Century-Fox  BC XXII-57-9632".

The weight of this heavy gage vinyl record is approx. 7 oz.

The grooves between cuts are larger so that disc jockeys could que the radio spots before playing.

The dead wax reads:  b & c  XII-57-9632  (1.5" from the top of the label, slightly to the left) FOX - LOVE ME TENDER (1.5" from the bottom of label, slightly to the right).

The radio spots read on the label as the following:

LOVE ME TENDER

RADIO SPOTS

(Both Sides Identical)

Cut 1 - 60 sec.  open end

Cut 2 - 60 sec.  open end

Cut 3 - 30 sec.  open end

Cut 4 - 30 sec.  open end

Cut 5 - 20 sec.  open end

Cut 6 - 20 sec.  open end

Cut 7 - 20 sec.  Rock 'N Roll

(split between the reference of cut 3 & 4 is the message:  33 1/3 RPM Start Outside Standard Groove).

Grading

Vinyl and Covers are inspected visually only, unless otherwise stated. I attempt to listen to each record, but it is not always possible. I never use stock photos. The pictures in my listings are of the actual item. I use the following general scale to determine cover, vinyl and label grades:

Sealed

Cover - Album is still sealed.  May have small holes and/or tears in seal.  Any damage that is a result of holes and/or tears will be noted.

EX+

Cover - This is a gorgeous find.  The front cover still has a brilliant gloss.  The colors, pictures and/or graphics are bright and crisp.  All edges have little or no wear, and no splits.  All corners may have some wear.  Back cover is generally clear and bright.  There may be slight darkening from age around the edges or in spots.  All graphics, writing, and pictures are easily viewed.

Vinyl - Does not appear to have been played.  Has a beautiful luster.  Record will play through marvelously with little or no surface noise.  No skips.

Label - Excellent condition.  No visible scuffs or wear.

EX

Cover - Front cover still has a nice sheen. There may be slight ring wear and/or record impression on front and/or back.  Front or back may also have light scuffs or abrasions.  There is no graffiti on the front cover. May have minor marks on back cover as long as it doesn't obscure lettering or pictures.  Front and back cover may have minor creases of 4" or less.  There may also be glue or sticker remnants.  Edges may have slight signs of wear, but no splits.  Corners may have slight signs of wear.  Back cover may have age related darkening or spots and minor stains.  The graphics, pictures and writing are still clearly visible.

Vinyl - There are minor scuffs on one or both sides.  May have minor scratches.  Still has a beautiful luster.  Record plays flawlessly with little or no surface noise.  No skips.

Label - Excellent condition.  Label has only superficial signs of wear.  May have some wear around center hole.

VG+

Cover - Cover may have dulled somewhat.  There may be more visible ring wear and/or record impression on the front and back.  There may be more prevalent scuffs and/or abrasions.  There may be minor graffiti on front or back, but it does not obstruct pictures, graphics or lettering.  Edges will have signs of wear, including some cover flaking.  Some splits may be present, but none are more than 2" in length.  Corners may have more significant signs of wear.  Back cover may have age related darkening or spots, and some staining, but does not obstruct writing, pictures of graphics.

Vinyl - There are numerous scuffs and light to moderate scratches on one or both sides.  Luster is still present, but dulled.  If record was produced in the 50's or 60's, this higher grade vinyl often looks worse than it sounds  Will play through with some surface noise and/or occasional pops that are more prevalent in quiet passages.  No skips.

Label - May have light wear around outer edge and center hole.  May have some graffiti, but it does not obscure grapics or lettering.

VG

Cover - Cover has dulled.  Ring wear and/or record impressions are prevalent on front and back covers.  There are noticeable scuffs and/or abrasions.  May have more significant graffiti on front and back.  May have significant darkening from age, some spots or stains.  The graffiti and/or stains may obstruct some of the lettering, graphics or pictures.  Please refer to the listing pictures for review.  Edges will have significant wear, and may have splits over 2".  All corners may have significant wear.

Vinyl - Record looks dull.  Many scuffs and light to moderate scratches.  If produced in the 50's or 60's, this higher grade vinyl often looks worse than it sounds.  There will be more significant surface noise and occasional pops, but not to the point of distraction.  Noise will be more noticeable in quiet pasages.  No skips.

Label - More significant wear on the outer edge and center hole.  Some lettering or graphics may have abrasions which may partially obscure them. Graffiti may obscure some of the grapics or lettering.

Good

Cover - Front and back have numerous creases, ring wear, scuffs and abrasions.  Edges are completely split on one or more sides.  Graffiti will be obvious.  Corners will have significant wear.

Vinyl - Vinyl still plays through without skipping.  There are major scuffs and light to heavy scratches.  Again, records produced in the 50's and 60's are a higher grade of vinyl which often looks worse than it plays.  Surface noise will be very noticeable, and possibly distracting on some tracks.

Label - Significant wear.  Graphics and/or lettering are significantly obscured.  You can still make out the lettering, but it has dulled and is difficult to read.

Fair to Poor

Cover - Cover is in terrible condition.  It is best purchased as a temporary copy.

Vinyl - Record may have cracks. These will be noted.  Vinyl will have heavy scuffs and scratches.  There may be skipping with some turntables.  Should only be purchased as a temporary copy.

Label - Label is heavily damaged to the point of being unrecognizable.  Should only be purchased until a better copy is available.
