Here we have up for grabs one of the rarest of the rare! A true treasure to behold. The actual plates/stampers that pressed the hot vinyl into the L.P. record album "A Legendary Performer" by the one and only Elvis Presley. I also have the Elvis presley stamper/plate for "how great thou art" up for auction. See my other auctions for details. Auction winner will recieve one set of stampers/plates. One fore side "A" and one for side "B". These things are usually thrown away by the record plant after they are used for pressing the albums. They can only be used for so many impressions and then they are done. Usually discarded or recycled. They are a beautiful silver color wich I believe is a chromium. They would look great framed. The plates were found by me at a local record pressing plant just east of Los Angeles in Monterey Park California. The plant was called "Alberti Records". I went there about 2 years ago when the plant was going out of business. I was there to pick up my own bands' plates and the owner told me I could take anything else I wanted because everything that wasn't collected that day was going into the trash. I stumbled across a box that said "RCA plates" on it and peeked inside. To my surprise it had Elvis Presley and David Bowie plates inside from 1977/1978. Needless to say I took that box. I have sold 5 here on ebay and 3 privately to very happy customers. Check my feedback on those items. The matrix numbers on the plates themselves and the manilla storage envelopes match the actual U.S. pressings of the albums. A quick search of the number on the internet will prove that.
