RARE “FUNNY GIRL” DEMONSTRATION OR BACKERS RECORD OF 1964 MUSICAL!
Here is the demonstration record of songs from what became the long-running 60’s musical, “Funny Girl,” that made Barbra Streisand a Broadway sensation. Such records were sent by the producers of prospective musicals to people who they hoped would invest in the production. This “demo” or “audition” record contains many of the hits from that show including “People” and “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” but also one called “A Temporary Arrangement” that was NOT used in that production.. (However, it is in the current Broadway revival of the show. The record is in Good (G) condition since one must allow for its age and rarity.
PLEASE NOTE: Barbra Streisand and Sydney Chaplin, the musical’s original stars, are NOT heard on this LP. Instead unnamed studio singers perform the songs.
