Description

EXTREMELY RARE! One of the HIGHLY SOUGHT Vintage 1950s Cheesecake Album Covers and LPs! A true collector's treasure that is exceptionally difficult to find, especially in this lovely condition! "LET'S GET ACQUAINTED WITH JAZZ  (FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO HATE JAZZ)" Original 1st pressing, 1958, TAMPA Records (TP-8)
The cover is to die for. A luscious blond (mmm…you can almost smell her perfumed body) with silky long legs, baby blue lingerie, and a face with lusty, yearning eyes topped with bouncy golden hair; and an exaggerated simpleton with a dunce hat who is destined for discipline by sexual dominance. Classic campy cult cheesecake. A four "C" threat!
Classic jazz tunes played by a stable of legendary West Coast jazz musicians lead by pianist Jimmy Rowles features none other than Bareney Kessel, Red Mitchell, Mel Lewis, Harold Land, Larry Bunker and Pete Candoli who masterfully instrument "Lullaby of Birdland" (a Charlie Parker favorite composed by George Shearing), "Body and Soul," "Tea For Two," ""El Tigre" and more, as well as Jimmy Rowles originals.
The music is great, but the cover is the million-dollar winner here, folks! 
MINT- Vinyl!!! STRONG EXCELLENT Cover!!! Just a hint or two of the beginning of clean and fully intact splits at the top edge of the cover, and a neatly placed piece of clear tape at the bottom edge of the cover that CANNOT be seen at all on the front.
