Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. VERY RARE and wanted for goood reason...Original 1972 first pressing in laminated gatefold cover with soon to be back then censored front cover grafics ,,, a very spacy hard progressive adventure which touches melodic folk edges with electrified progressive thenes, psychedelic interludes...freaky head-phones sensations....
This excellent 1972 album by former Italian pop star Franco Battiato presents an excellent mix of progressive rock and more experimental, avant-garde tendencies. Battiato's "Fetus" should prove to be very enjoyable for fans of Italian progressive-psych with experimental flourishes all over the place. The overall mood of this album is somewhat sad and very eerie. This original cover of "Fetus" was, at the time, considered very shocking and thus censored.
In a nutshell, the music on Fetus is comprised of a diverse mixture of progressive rock; lovely and haunting melodies complete with "churchy" sounding pipe organ; soft, acoustic textures (guitar and violin); spacey, VCS3 synthesizer heavy experimentation; some folk edges; psychedelic freak outs; injections trippy effects and fuzzed guitar accents. The proggy sections really take flight when the whole band kicks in. The few vocals Franco Battiato provides are at times get quite plaintive, although they are conventional for the most part. As a general observation, all of the pieces blend together in an odd, sound collage of sorts, over which Battiato weaves his magic.
All said, this is an excellent album of progressive/experimental/avant-garde music by Franco Battiato and should appeal to many progressive rock/psych fans. Especially those who enjoy adventurous progressive rock along with electronic spacy interludes; the European avant garde; minimalism; serialism; and aleatoric music (e.g. John Cage)... the music within proves to hold a lot of listening enjoyment. Very highly recommended along with Pollution (1973) and Sulle Corde di Aries (1973).
