Description: Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique discs, this one by Al and the Untouchables.

Internet research shows:
This group was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association Hall of fame in 1998.  The members included:

3. Ron Hamad-guitars
4. Frank Glaser
5. Ernie Dvorak-sax
6. Bob Gaston
7. Bob Keith-keyboards
8. Bill Alley-bass
9. Mel Winder-guitars

"The Untouchables got their start in 1960, when Al Huntzinger & Larry Fountain of Cedar Rapids decided to start their own band. The formation of the Untouchables included : Al Huntziner-drums, Larry Fountain-guitar, Ernie Dvorak-sax, Ron Hamad-guitars, Bob Keith-keyboards, Bill Alley-bass, & Mel Winder-Guitar. During this period Frank Glaser and Bob Gaston would also play and work with the Untouchables. The Group became top draws at such classic ballrooms as: The Danceland in Cedar Rapids, The Roof Garden at Lake Okoboji, The Val Air in Des Moines, The Cobblestone in Storm Lake, and The Laramar in Ft. Dodge. In 1964, the group would head to the Fredlo Studios in Davenport to record and release their only record on Huntzinger's own label, Hunt Records. It was the great surf cover of "Church Key" backed by the traditional "Danny Boy" (Hunt #450) After the release of their record the group hung up it's rock and roll shoes. Huntzinger would go on to form Hunt booking Agency one of Eastern Iowa's most successful rock booking agencies. For the four years that Al, Larry & The Untouchables were together they left behind many rockin' memories. it was a classic "Iowa Sound"

Several unique things about this auction:  Firstly, this disc retains the original shine with some very light to light marks and one pressing pimple on each side grading by sight in normal room light.   I'm sure if you took this and put it under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes it less than mint.  If you're that kind of collector, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim this record is mint.  I took the time to play it and noted a very light to light surface noise on each side which was more pronounced when the music was quiet.  On the "Church Key" side, I noted a few muffled pops towards the end, probably over the pressing pimple.  When the music was loud, the music overcame the surface noise.  I'd audibly average the two tracks better than half way between VG and VG+(excellent).  You can assign your own grade based on my comments and the grading scale shown below.  When I played it, the record did not spin completely flat, but this did NOT affect play in any way.

Secondly, at the time of this listing, no past/present listings on e-bay. NO COPIES FOUND FOR SALE OUT ON THE INTERNET! Past sales for this disc have exceeded $200!

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s).

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

• NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
• 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
• 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
• VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
• VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
• G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship 7" discs in 12"x10"x3" boxes.  Weight with box is about 9 oz. Shipping is:  $2.63 Media Rate (0-1 pounds) + $1.00 box/tape/packing  = $3.63.

Buyer pays shipping/handling. Standard method within U.S. is Media Rate, $3.63.  This includes delivery confirmation which enables you to track shipping of your package online. Outside U.S., e-mail location to determine S/H costs prior to auction end. Insurance / other methods of shipping cost extra. Payment received within ten days of auction ending.
