Description
Extremely hard to find jazz 10” 33rpm LP on the UK Vogue label, catalogue number L.D.E. 113, Gigi Gryce Octet
Front-laminated, flipback sleeve has a little ringwear and age browning, corner and edge creasing, and there is also a small punch hole in the sleeve (and the inner sleeve and Record), which I think is an import indicator, along with the sticker on the back. The sleeve grades VG.
The vinyl plays very well, with loud mono audio reproducing a superbly recorded set. Each side has some light surface marks and what look like ‘under the groove’ manufacturing lines, with a few other light hairlines. There is audible background crackle at the start of each side, between bands and during quieter passages, but the audio is very strong, despite this surface noise. However, it is louder in some parts more than others. No skips, no jumps, not a perfect copy, but still an enjoyable listen.
Taking into account a visual inspection and playing quality together, the vinyl grades VG to VG plus overall.
