Description

Up for auction is this 16 3/4" by 10" cardboard "browser box" in store record store display. This was made by Geffen records in early 1980 to promote the 7" 45 rpm record release of "[Just Like] Starting Over" from the new Geffen records record album "Double Fantasy".  But after John Lennon's murder December 8, 1980 his record label Geffen Records tried to destroy all promotional materials produced for the album for fear of being seen as cashing in on the singer's tragic death. Fortunately a few still survive today. This example has never been unfolded or used in a record store. Also included is a near mint- condition 7" 45 rpm record of "[Just Like] Starting Over" with a near mint condition picture sleeve. Thanks Frank
