1st press UK stereo LP, release date 1971 on the PLUM & RED Atlantic label.

Catalogue number: 2401012 deluxe

Matrix Nos: 2401012 A3 and 2401012 B4. The words PECKO DUCK and PORKY are etched onto the run out grooves.

Condition of cover/inner/record: EX+/Ex+/EX- (Grading as used by Record Collector)

The cover is in excellent condition, very clean, gatefold format, unlaminated, flat matt finish. Comes with the original dark inner.

Front cover looks pristine and new and is the best I have ever seen!!!. The cover has NO RINGWEAR! There is very minor rubbing to the top and bottom edges and spine with slightly more at the corners and on the back cover there is a feint line impression - hardly noticible. I mention this for accuracy of description. The gatefold inside is immaculate and looks brand new! All in all, the cover is excellent - no tears, no creases, no ringwear, no stains, no marks, no writting, no sticker residue... A truly beautiful example and a STRONG EX+

The inner sleeve is the very fragile original, rough-textured dark paper and is also one of the best I have ever seen! With lyrics to ‘Stairway to Heaven’ on one side and track list on the other. Only the bottom seam is split - approx 3 inches. These are usually found very damaged due to the fragile nature of the paper, or even replaced with plain paper inners - I have only ever seen one of these which had no seam splits at all (and I've seen a good few) and this one here is the second best one I've ever seen!!! In great condition with no creases and grades EX+, very rare!

The two PLUM labels are vivid, bright and clean, new looking, with very light spindle marks, which can be seen under angled bright light, but are very unobtrusive. The vinyl itself has a few prominent surface scuffs which do not affect play, but they are there and highly visible. Only two or three on each side, but a shame because without them the record would be MINT- as the vinyl is wonderfully glossy and shiny with no other surface marks and virtually no sign of being played. As I say, they do not sound but they force me to grade the vinyl EX-

The audio is simply stunning with barely any surface noise of which to speak of! Even the run ins and the quiet parts of "Stairway..." are near silent!!! Crystal clear audio definition with the warmth, loudness and punch which make these original plum pressings so sought after. There are no clicks, pops or background/surface noise. Amazing for a 33 year old record and a STRONG EX-
