Special note to foreign bidders: NO FOREIGN SHIP DUE TO CONDITION!I declare foreign shipments as merchandise with the value you bid for them. Shipment to foreign buyers is via priority mail international with insurance for the value bid. Please e-mail for shipping costs before bidding as this method costs more, but is insurable and trackable. Example: United Kingdom 1-2 pounds $47.45 + $2.10 box/tape/pack = $49.55.

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

Alternatively, if the ending winning bid is less than $50 and if you have perfect feedback and want this shipped first class international, it could be shipped that method with the understanding there is NO REFUND FOR ANY REASON since the item cannot be tracked online or insured. Example: United Kingdom 1 pound 13 oz.: $24.15 + $2.10 = $26.25.

Feedback/bidding policy: I check feedback daily and will return feedback promptly. Please note I do allow returns (see return policy below).

Description:Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one by Lightnin' Hopkins.

Several unique things about this item: Firstly, the record retains the original shine with lots of very light to light marks, grading by sight in normal room light. I'm sure if you took this and put it under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes it less than mint. If you're that kind of collector, and after a recent unpleasant experience with a buyer from Malaysia, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim this record is mint. I took the time to listen to it and found the 11 tracks to have a constant very light to light surface noise with some scattered very light to light pops. I would rate the tracks to average a little below VG+, but you can assign your own grade based on my comments and the grading scale shown below. Keep in mind how it plays for me may differ from how it plays for you based on differences in audio equipment.

So this is your chance to own a unique item at a reasonable price. Bid early and often so you don't miss out on this auction!

It is further described below, please take the time to read before bidding.

Please e-mail if questions.

Be sure to check my other listings to save postage on multiple winning bids. Please explore the "me" link next to feedback rating) to check out my store and some of the 15,000+ records I have for sale as well as the LP to CD transfer service I offer.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s).

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Artist: Lightnin' Hopkins Title: Blues in my bottle Record: Black vinyl with original shine, lots of very light to light marks, grading by sight in normal room light. Labels: Deep groove blue with silver print. No stickers, no pen/pencil marks, some spindle marks, some center hole wear. There is a 1" x 1/2" scuff along the left side of the label on side B, it does not encroach into any print. Trailing wax: Side 1: "BVLP 1045-A RVG". Side 2: "BVLP-1045-B RVG". Inner sleeves: A generic, white sleeve in fine shape. Cover: Slight/moderate general/ring wear, more so on the back. Corners moderately to heavily worn with some creased tips. A small amount of pen writing back upper left right corner. Name of previous owner written in pencil along the top edge. Bottom edge completely split. Top spine split 1/2 from the top down. No stickers. A couple edge nicks along the top edge and right edge. Some crinkles along the edge. Rate the cover G to VG. Comments: I found the tracks to audibly average just shy of VG+(excellent) with a constant very light to light surface noise and scattered very light to light pops. You can assign your own grade based on my comments and the scale shown below. Given the low price, an excellent and unusual addition to your LP collection. Side 1: Comments: Buddy Brown's blues Up to a constant very light to light surface noise with a few very light to light pops (2.9) Wine spodee-o-dee Up to a constant very light to light surface noise with a few very light to light pops (2.95) Sail on, little girl, sail on Up to a constant very light to light surface noise with a few very light to light pops (2.9) DC-7 Up to a constant very light to light surface noise (2.9) Death bells Up to a constant very light surface noise with some very light pops + a few light/medium pops (2.8) Side 2: Comments: Goin' to Dallas to see my pony run Up to a constant very light surface noise (3.0) Jailhouse blues Up to a constant very light surface noise with some very light to light pops (2.9) Blues in the bottle Up to a constant very light surface noise (2.9) Beans, beans, beans Up to a constant very light surface noise (2.9) Catfish blues Up to a constant very light surface noise (2.9) My grandpa is old too! Up to a constant very light surface noise (3.1)

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

  • NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
  • 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
  • 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
  • VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
  • VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
  • G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship LPs in 13x13x2 standard record mailers. Weight with box is 15 oz. Shipping is $2.69 Media Rate (0-1 pounds) + $1.19 box + $1.05 online tracking = $4.93.

Alternative, I can ship in a 14 x 14 x 6" box. Weight with box is about 1 pound 11 oz. Shipping is $3.17 Media Rate (1-2 pounds) + $2.10 box/tape/packing + $1.05 online tracking = $6.32.

This auction is currently sent to ship in the smaller box.

Buyer pays shipping/handling. Standard method within U.S. is Media Rate, $4.00 This includes delivery confirmation which enables you to track shipping of your package online.
