Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Damon ~ Song of a Gypsy is regarded as one of the finest privately-pressed psychedelic rock records ever made. It has, for over twenty years, been one of the most sought after late 60s rock artifacts in the world, with the scant original copies that exist exchanging hands for thousands of dollars. Crafted towards the the end of the 60s, it certainly shows in the composition. This isn't wispy, rambling nonsense, and you may be surprised by the sheer amount of coherence on offer. Song of a Gypsy’s seemingly impossible story – one that encapsulates the last bloom of the flower power movement before it decayed into the haze of the ‘70s underground. It traces the arch of a pop hopeful descending into chaos, becoming the tortured soul who would create an LP to file alongside works by other lost greats of the late ‘60s. Of course, juicy late ‘60s anecdotes abound: it was an acid trip that took Damon on a meandering journey to Big Sur’s Esalen Institute, where a chance meeting with Ravi Shankar and George Harrison turned everything around for him, as he nursed a five-string guitar back to spiritual health aside the maestros’ sitars under Big Sur’s endless sky. Nevertheless, whatever the story is, Song Of A Gypsy is is an excellent psychedelic album and both gatefold/non-gatefold original versions are monster rarities. There's lots of fuzz guitar and a mystical feel about tracks like "Do You" and "The Night". Elsewhere is "I Feel Your Love" which has a sleepy, stoned atmosphere sounding rather similar to The Deep. Another track, "Birds Fly So High", has 'snake charming' atmospherics, again creating a sort of Eastern mystical feel. The album itself is made up of (similarly) urgent tracks that overflow with amazing distorted lead guitar injections and Damon's powerful, otherworldly voice. The title track opens Side One in dramatic fashion; the opening lyric "Today I feel like cryin', Today I feel like dyin'" delivered in a most convincing manner. It's obvious right away that you're listening to something very special. If there really is such a thing as psychedelic music, this is surely it.Song Of A Gypsy
