RARE LP ALBUM COVER-SUMMIT RAT PACK LIVE '62 FRANK SINATRA,DEAN MARTIN No Record
This prized rarity is from an old store stock that specialized in Frank Sinatra memorabilia. This is an original 12" LP album cover (foldout) but it is just the original carboard cover only - there is NO record offered for sale!
Back in the late 1990s (before DCC went out of business in 2001), they were going to offer a limited edition "gold" CD of this magnificent live Rat Pack concert from 1962 along with a very limited edition of virgin vinyl records. Sadly, the plans for the record were delayed and then cancelled. We had presold a few hundred orders and there were a lot of disappointed Sinatra fans in 1999 when the records were cancelled. The numbered edition of the gold CDs would have to satisfy. A little while later, it was discovered that some of the album covers for these LPs were actually produced and sold on the DCC web site as collectibles for about $25 a pop. Once word got out, those quickly vanished (we actually bought the last few). I do not know how many covers were produced, but there were not many, and this is the last one I have.
If you are looking for something a little different and rare, this is it! After speaking with a representative at DCC it was confirmed to me that there were a few test pressing LPs made, so if you are fortunate to have one of those sets, this would compliment it very nicely! The jacket is original, unused, in very nice condition with a little shelf wear. It is a foldopen cover to house two 12 inch LPs, so it's size is approximately 24 by 12 inches. Please see the photos for more detail. And again, this is just the cover, there are no LP records!
