(Rev. Dr.)Martin Luther King (Jr.) Speaks "I've Been to the Mountaintop" 1969 mlks 6914 Monaural This album is a recording of one broadcast of a series done for radio. It includes King's last speech as well as Mahalia Jackson's solo at his funeral, just six days later. The album was not available in stores but only to monetary contributors hoping to continue King's work. Produced by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Rev Ralph David Abernathy, president. Abernathy was one of King's closest friends and confidants and was picked by King to succeed him in the leadership of the civil rights movement, yet the album uses none of King's honorifics. Unknown how many copies remain in collections.
No splits to cover, just edge wear and some ring wear, as shown. Vinyl is NM.
