These progenitors of the horror punk sub-genre, who so deftly blending punk rock and other musical influences with horror film themes and imagery, were founded in 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey by singer and songwriter Glenn Danzig.

Songs on this picture disc album were recorded live on December 17, 1981 at The Ritz in New York City, and November 20, 1981 at On Broadway in San Francisco: "20 Eyes," “Hate Breeders," "Astro Zombies," "Night of the Living Dead," "Horror Hotel," ""Horror Business," ""Nike A Go Go," and more horror punk classics. Henry Rollins of Black Flag is a featured vocalist on "We Are 138."
