You won't find a better copy than this one ! It's an ORIGINAL still sealed copy of Unholy Death by NME from 1986 if I recall. These guys were black metal pioneers from the 1980's but still seem underrated & maybe even overlooked. Collectors of the obscure know NME quite well though. I don't think that they were ever really recognized for their important contribution to what black metal would become. "N.M.E.'s sound was an awesome, sludgy-as-shit form of black metal that took more influence from Hellhammer and Venom then their more thrash-oriented black metal brethren of the time, such as Obsessed-era Sodom, Bulldozer, and Tormentor (Hun). The production on the Unholy Death LP captures this perfectly, with it's chunky, meaty bass, reverb-drenched guitar, pummeling drums, and Brian Llapitan's snarly, Cronos-meets-Tom Warrior-like vocals, all coming together as one devastatingly sluggish black metal monstrosity with enough force to demolish the Great Wall of China with nothing but a flick of the wrist". He had some really fooked up drug problems that caused him to commit an heinous act but he turned his like around after prison.

In April of 1986, Kurt Struebing, then 20, was accused of killing his adoptive mother, Darlee Struebing, with a hatchet and a pair of scissors. At the time, friends said, Struebing had been abusing drugs, and even prosecutors believed he was mentally unstable. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 12 years in prison, although prosecutors sought a shorter sentence.

Kurt Struebing, leader of the death metal band N.M.E., brutally murdered his mother with a hatchet and a pair of scissors in 1986. Allegedly, he also sexually assaulted her. Police found books on witchcraft in the home, as well as photos of Kurt Struebing in “staged death scenes”. Struebing said he felt that he was a robot and that he wanted to kill his mother to see if she was a robot. Struebing was charged with murder and rape. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 12 years in the mentally ill offenders’ unit of a reformatory. The sentence was later reduced to eight years, and he was released in April 1994, at which time, amazingly, he reformed N.M.E. with most of the original members and started playing clubs again.

Review: In the case of a band where one influence so outweighs the rest as to be immediately evident it is fair to mention that before defining the band, and here the influence is Venom-style heavy metal rendered in a more punkish form with even simpler, less rock-literate riffs than even the masters. Infectiously simple rhythms and punk influenced song structure with layers and breakdowns form the staggered intervals of introduction across which circular patterns match alignment at oblique angles to provide space for vast shift and change. Delivering songs through a more punkish passage of circle than the conclusive deconstruction in unravelling that metal bands provided, NME make full circuit between nothingness and infinity in grinding simplistic songs with shouted, growled, hoarse lungless hurling pacing them toward simple conclusions.

Use of straight hardcore riffs alongside metal-influenced but not modally pentatonic playing gives this band the freedom to make either hypnotically simple tonal continuance or leaps beyond the chromatic for periodic emphasis on structure, yet the essence of this playing is the raw rhythm and relative motion in these riffs that gives a shape to the forward inertia flung out in primitive and brain-maulingly simple pieces. Dissident music in excessive and reductivist minimalism, this release celebrates the primitive and unleashed in the slumbering rune-caster of the soul.
