Greetings everyone! Here we have a VERY rare copy of Jimmy Armstrong's "Mystery"/"I'm About To Say Goodbye" on the infamous DC (MY HOMETOWN) label Shrine Records. I struggled with grading this 45 simply because looks can be deceiving. While there are many scratches... it's still a good listen. The "Mystery" side plays through without skips however pops and ticks are definitely present. They however do NOT overpower the music. The story is a little different on the "I'm About To Say Goodbye" side of the 45. It's the same story as the "Mystery" side HOWEVER... there are 2 quick skips in the middle of the record due to a scratch I believe. No amount of cleaning could fix that. Please understand that I KNOW what this 45 is worth clean,but because of the condition I can't and won't place an exorbitant price on the 45... however... I literally dug through thousands of 45's,dust and mold and found this and it IS uber rare. With all that said... i'd grade it G/VG- simply because if the skips.
