Description

RARE UK LABEL NORTHERN SOUL

I'll be auctioning off a lot of UK label singles over the next year(s), taken from my own large collection. I've decided to concentrate on collecting US releases, and only keep a few UK label records. Among them are some very collectable 45s indeed, so make sure you don't miss any. I'll be working alphabetically, to make it simpler. However, eBay are doing one of their promotion offers, so I'll use a few rarities today.

THE ISLEY BROTHERS

"TAKE ME IN YOUR ARMS (ROCK ME A LITTLE WHILE)"

b/w

"WHY WHEN LOVE IS GONE"

(UK: Tamla Motown TMG 652, 1968; Demonstration Record)

Recorded: 1967

Record conditon: Excellent +++

Labels condition: Spotless

Here we have one of The Isley Brothers' best double-headers, and it's a near mint demo.

 I don't think there's any need at all to describe the tunes on offer, except to say that "Why When Love Is Gone" is my personal fave track by Ronald, Rudolph and O'Kelly, and typifies the fast on-the-fours dancer that made mid-60s Motown so special.

I've scanned both labels, because a fair number of Tamla Motown's most-loved tracks are B-sides. As you can see, both are totally unmarked.

The vinyl has just one faint "spiders web" on side one, and plays near mint. I think I dare say that you won't see a better copy of this stunning single.

Currently valued by Manship at £100.

This record has been played on both sides to verify condition. It comes in my own personalized card cover.

All wins will be sent 'signed for' delivery, so excuse the slight postage increase. Any problems, please contact me.
