Rare 1908 Negro Laughing song sung by George W Johnson. Mr Johnson is believed to be the first African American to sing on a record, and all this during a time when he was still a slave. This is an early Columbia 2 sided disc with "Little Alabama Coon" on the B Side sing by Henry Burr. The A side, was a popular song in the early days of recordings and Mr Johnson is heard here accompanied by an orchestra, and this also includes the third verse, not present on earlier recordings.

CONDITION: Record is in VG+ condition on A side, B side is VG with a few light scuffs. A side still has some of its shine and please keep in mind I sampled it on a regular record player that has a 78 rpm setting but I do not have a proper needle to bring out the best sound in this recording.
