Description

Here is an extremely rare 1969 pressing of La Balada de John Y Yoko (The ballad of John & Yoko)/ Zapatos Viejos (Old brown shoe)  by The Beatles.  The ballad is the controversial song that was banned in Spain; and some US stations refused to play it because of the chorus lyrics: “Christ, you know it ain’t easy, You know how hard it can be, The way things are going, They’re gonna crucify me.”   This was the 17th and last Beatles single to reach #1 in the UK.  It topped out at #8 in the US.  Made in Nicaragua under the Odeon Records label (black), #0-0400.  Comes in original Nicaraguan Odeon sleeve.   Record is VG+ to E-, sleeve is NM. I have not listened to this, so all grading is based only on visual inspection using the eBay Guide to Vinyl Record Grades (based on vinyl record grades from Goldmine Magazine).  Please see photos.  If you want a close up of any particular area on the record or sleeve, please ask and I will try to take a close-up picture and send to you.
