THIS 1959 BUDDY HOLLY ALBUM WILL MAKE A GREAT ADDITION TO ONE'S COLLECTION OF VINTAGE ROCK & ROLL VINYL!
This is the original rare MONO pressing of "The Buddy Holly Story" (volume # 1) by Coral records released in 1959 (CRL 57279) with the maroon label and the Black and Red printing on the outer jacket's back cover. The 2009 6th edition of Goldmine Record Album Price Guide values this very album at $300 if in Near Mint (NM) condition. This album is NOT in NM condition (see next paragraph).
THIS VINYL PRODUCES A PLEASANT LISTENING EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT WITH ONLY MINOR SURFACE NOISE ON SLOWER TRACKS (no skips, pops or repeats here). There are numerous scratches and scuffs (more so in trail off/dead wax area - see photos) on each side and lots of spindle marks on each label side thus the G to VG condition rating (using Goldmine Price Guide standards). The outer jacket has some staining and erosion on seams (no splits). Nonetheless, this jacket cover is certainly worthy of being a candidate for framing if one is so inclined. The jacket rates a VG to VG+ as to overall condition. A re-sealable clear poly outer sleeve is included as well as a new white generic inner sleeve to help protect this LP for generations to come.
